"EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS — One student suggested designing a computer virus to help, rather than hinder, our efforts to use digital technology, by editing all of the personal information that is posted on the Internet. Worried that a prospective employer might spot a long-forgotten photo on Facebook taken while you were drunk or whatever? Problem solved.
Another student favored cultivating a fungus to destroy some of the plastics that are threateningto clog up landfill sites for centuries to come. The fungus, or so his theory went, would “eat” the plastic and purify any toxic remains."
